Following a Japanese theme, Spa Shiki at The Lodge of Four Seasons Resort in Lake Ozark, Mo., is a 15,000-square-foot resort spa with 16 treatment rooms.
According to Spa Director Ann Brown, time at the spa complements a meeting by offering attendees an experience they may not indulge in when they're at home.

"It's about pampering, luxury and wellness," she says. "It's a time to recharge in the midst of a jam-packed meeting or conference."

The spa works closely with meeting planners to tailor programs to specific group needs, including taking the spa to the meeting via chair massages at registration and wellness presentations at breaks. One popular program for groups, the Spa Sampler, invites small groups to enjoy a sampling of spa treatments, such as paraffin hand dips and reflexology.

"This program works well for a mixer that involves attendees and spouses," Brown says.

The signature treatment in the spa is the Japanese Cleansing Ritual, a 110-minute treatment featuring an herbal body exfoliation, a relaxing bath and an aromatherapy massage.
